Job summary

Tetra Tech in Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, or Billings, MT seeks a Mid to Senior Electrical Engineer to join our oil and gas project teams. You will provide electrical and controls design for pipelines, compressor stations, and terminal facilities, bringing engineering excellence to a nationwide portfolio.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5–10 years in electrical/controls engineering (oil and gas preferred), plus proficiency with P&IDs, IO lists, circuit schedules, PLC

  • Provide electrical and controls design for pipeline, compressor station, and terminal projects nationwide.
  • Lead design efforts within a multi-disciplinary project team.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and coordinate with clients and peers.

The Opportunity Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Mid to Senior Electrical Engineers, in our Englewood, CO, Casper, WY, and Billings, MT offices.

Your Role This position provides electrical and controls design support for pipeline, compressor station, and terminal/tank projects nationwide. A successful candidate will bring design, engineering, and technical expertise to a team of established consultants with a proven track record of 40 years in the Oil & Gas Industry. You will participate in a multi-disciplinary project team in a lead role.

Qualifications

  • Position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Must have 5-10 years of experience in Electrical or Controls Engineering, with Oil and Gas experience preferred.
  • P.E. preferred
  • Proficient with P&IDs, IO lists, circuit schedules, communications, PLC panels, and loop diagrams, and well versed in NFPA 70.
  • Must have construction support, site commissioning, and start-up experience.
  • Exposure to PLC programming is a plus.
  • Must have experience specifying, ISA data sheets, procuring instrumentation and control devices.
  • Must be able to train Junior staff, communicate with peers, contractors, and clients clearly and efficiently.
  • Position requires strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be a self-starter capable of handling solo projects as well as working with a group, eager to expand knowledge base, teach others, and be detail oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • A Pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit is desired.

Target salary range: $90,000.00 to $155,000.00 Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements

  • Constantly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms
  • Constantly use hands to keyboard or type, handle materials, or manipulate objects
  • Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions and communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Requires composure and ability to prioritize and handle several urgent tasks and requests simultaneously with a high level of competence and accuracy
  • Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders to read meters at active oil & gas sites.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors Environmental factors mostly consist of work being conducted in an indoor office environment, but is not limited to extreme temperatures (e.g., cold, heat), fumes, variable weather conditions, outdoor work, and noise due to some travel & work on worksites.
