Job summary

Protingent is assisting with an Electrical Engineer opening in Milpitas, CA. The engineer will design, test and validate advanced hardware, collaborating across teams from concept to mass production.

Requirements include a strong background in consumer electronics hardware, PCB design with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, and experience with analog, RF, and battery-powered circuits. Offshore manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in consumer electronics with hardware design focus.
• Proven track record bringing consumer products to production, incl. offshore manufacturing.
• Strong PCB design/layout with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro.
• Analog design basics (DC/DC, audio, power, SI) and SPICE.
• Knowledge of I2C, SPI, USB and RF (BLE/WiFi).
• Embedded systems design with ARM/RISC-V.
• Battery-powered circuit experience and power optimization.
• Certification knowledge (UL, FCC, CE, USB-IF).
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on lab skills.
• Mandarin Chinese fluency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and validate electrical designs.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients from concept to mass production.
• Conduct design reviews with clients and resources.
• Create and review specs, drawings, schematics, BOMs, and docs.
• Support build activities, including overseas travel.
• Perform electrical bring-up and lab activities in startup environments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on production test plans.
• Ensure designs meet yield, quality, and safety standards.
