Furientis is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead power electronics and distribution systems design within their avionics team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in both circuit design and power systems tailored for aerospace applications, ensuring mission-critical performance.
Responsibilities include designing systems for power distribution, developing hardware for avionics circuitry, and collaborating closely with embedded systems engineers. This is an on-site role with no remote work options.
America is critically deficient in production of defensive munitions- we currently produce shipborne interceptors in the few hundreds per year while our adversaries are producing offensive threats in the tens of thousands per year. Furientis was started to help solve this problem- introducing a new class of cost‑effective, high production rate, interceptor missiles. We're seeking motivated individuals who internalize this problem and are eager to apply their past experience in similar industries (aerospace, defense, automotive/racing, robotics) and out of the box thinking to solve this problem for the US and its allies.
The Avionics Team owns the electronics on the vehicle: flight computer, compute boards, power conversion, sensor interfaces, wiring, and the embedded firmware that ties them together. The same engineers design the boards, write the firmware, and bring them up at the bench. No handoff layer between hardware and software.
Avionics sits on the critical path for every flight test, so the team's velocity sets the program's pace.
We are looking for an outstanding electrical engineer with deep experience in power systems and circuit design for aerospace or other demanding hardware environments.
You will lead the design and development of power electronics, distribution systems, embedded electrical hardware, and mission‑critical avionics circuitry. This role requires both strong theoretical engineering fundamentals and practical hands‑on debugging capability.
Location: On‑site at our Los Angeles, CA HQ; remote work is not available. Monthly weekend travel for test events and supplier engagements. Clearance: A clearance is not required for this position. Must be a U.S. Person.
Furientis is an equal‑opportunity employer. To comply with U.S. export control laws, employment is contingent on eligibility to access export‑controlled information.
