Job summary

Commonwealth Rolled Products, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Casting Maintenance & Engineering team in Lewisport, KY.

The role focuses on planning, managing and implementing capital and maintenance projects to improve electrical equipment performance and reliability. You will collaborate with plant personnel, draft budgets, modify electrical drawings, and train staff on electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology and minimum of three years’ experience in an industrial environment required.
• Capable to understand and modify L1 Software on the automation platforms in use at Commonwealth (Siemens S7, Rockwell, servo systems, …).
• Strong verbal and written communications skills, analytical skills, and good PC skills.
• Project Management skills are required.
• Must work well in a team environment and possess good leadership skills.
• Good electrical aptitude.
• Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Good methodical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and related issues.
• Ability to prepare and/or modify Electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• Ability to provide technical training to all applicable personnel regarding electrical systems and functions.
• Ability to perform CAD with AutoCad software.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Proven negotiating, interpersonal and both written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply engineering techniques for electrical equipment.
• Draft and submit budget proposals for capital projects.
• Prepare and modify electrical drawings, specifications and graphs.
• Lead and train personnel on electrical systems and maintenance.
• Diagnose equipment problems and implement reliability improvements.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities to reduce maintenance costs.
• Develop knowledge on Casting equipment and lean manufacturing methods.
