Loring Consulting Engineers, Inc. in New York City is seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services Team.

You will design power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecom systems for commercial and institutional facilities, working closely with clients and other design professionals. This role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 5–7 years of relevant experience, proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit, and a solid grounding in NEC and IBC codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited 4-year program.
• 5-7 years of professional experience designing electrical systems for commercial/institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with AE/MEP consulting firms preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and IBC codes.

Responsibilities

• Design power, lighting, fire alarm, and telecom plans with associated diagrams.
• Perform load, arc flash, fault current calculations and other electrical design tasks.
• Prepare construction documents, drawings, specs, and reports.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and clients; attend meetings.
• Review electrical documents for conflicts with building systems.
