Job summary

AEC Resources, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer (PE) to design electrical systems for commercial building projects from our Minneapolis area offices.

You will perform calculations, create drawings, and collaborate with architects and other engineers on integrated building systems. Responsibilities include power distribution, lighting, and low‑voltage design, with site verifications and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• PE licensure or EIT with PE in 12 months.
• Knowledge of power, lighting, and building systems.
• Familiarity with NEC and energy codes.

Responsibilities

• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and LV systems for buildings.
• Prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers on integrated systems.
• Conduct site assessments and field verifications.
• Assist with project management and coordination with contractors.

This is a brand-new position designing electrical systems for commercial architecture projects. This role will entail design, engineering, and some light project management of building systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems that make buildings safer, smarter, and more efficient
• Prepare electrical engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other disciplines to develop integrated building systems
• Perform site assessments, field verifications, and system troubleshooting to ensure seamless project execution
• Support project management efforts by coordinating with contractors, clients, and stakeholders

About You:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering degree, or graduate degree
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE), or an EIT that can become a PE within 12 months
• Knowledge of power, lighting, and special systems for building projects
• Understanding of NEC, energy codes, and industry standards.
• Revit and/or AutoCAD proficient
