Tyonek Manufacturing Group, Inc. is seeking an electrical engineer to play a key role in aircraft integration efforts, designing and developing avionics and weapons system integration for DoD and commercial customers.

You will wire diagrams, CAD drawings, and installation panels, and may lead design and test phases. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or 2 years experience, knowledge of aircraft systems, CAD (AutoCAD), and the ability to obtain a government security

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or 2 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledgeable of DoD or commercial aircraft is desired.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience with aircraft electrical design requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop system requirements, architecture and interfaces for avionic/mission systems.
  • Create wiring diagrams and installation drawings using CAD tools.
  • Design control panels, relay panels and interface panels.
  • Support airworthiness certification through analyses and testing.
  • Provide engineering support during manufacturing and post-modification testing.
  • Review installations for conformance to design.
  • Develop testing plans, procedures and reports for avionics and electrical systems.

Job description

General Description

Tyonek is dedicated to solving problems for current and future warfighters. We are seeking a motivated individual to take on the position of electrical engineer. You will hold a key role in our aircraft integration efforts. Using your electrical engineering expertise, you will design and develop the integration of avionics and weapons systems into multiple vehicle platforms for customers including US DoD, foreign military, and/or commercial entities. You may also be the technical lead for projects during both the design and test phases.

Position level will be hired to match the experience of the candidate.

Duties
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is encouraged.
  • Develop system requirements, architecture and interfaces between new avionic or mission systems and legacy aircraft systems.
  • Develop aircraft systems and subsystem electrical designs to include creation of aircraft wiring diagrams, electrical installation drawings and harness fabrication drawings using Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs.
  • Design control panels, circuit breaker panels, relay panels and interface panels.
  • Assist in the performance and writing of engineering analyses and reports as required to obtain airworthiness certification to include Electrical Loads Analysis (ELA).
  • Develop and present informal design reviews.
  • Develop installation instructions.
  • Provide engineering support during the manufacturing phase.
  • Provide engineering support during prototype, validation and verification of aircraft modifications.
  • Review completed installations to ensure conformance to design.
  • Develop avionics and electrical system and subsystem testing, write test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Perform aircraft avionics and electrical system and subsystem testing and write test reports.
  • Provide avionics systems, aircraft electrical systems and electronic test equipment troubleshooting support and expertise during post modification testing.
  • Support component level qualification testing.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field) or 2 years relevant experience in lieu of degree is required.
  • Knowledgeable of DoD or commercial aircraft is desired.
  • Ability to use computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of aircraft electrical design requirements and design specifications to include SAE AS50881 Aerospace Vehicle Wiring Requirements is a plus.
  • Previous military aircraft electrical and avionics systems experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced multi-tasking customer service-oriented environment with a high degree of efficient and effective performance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
