The Boring Company in the United States is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop AC power systems for tunnel boring machines and related equipment. You will work with manufacturing, controls, and field teams to create practical, reliable power architectures and drive continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include delivering high/medium voltage distribution, creating diagrams and BOMs, and performing sizing and protection calculations.
The Boring Company is working to disrupt the economics of tunnel construction by designing better machines, automating traditionally manual processes, and vertically integrating more of the systems required to build tunnels. Driving tunneling cost down and throughput up is critical to making underground transportation feasible and scalable, with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
This role will own the design and development of AC power systems for our tunnel boring machines and supporting equipment. The engineer will work directly with manufacturing, mechanical, controls, and field teams to design power systems that are practical to build, operate, troubleshoot, and continuously improve.
