Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in protection and control for substations. You will design protection panels, create schematics, and develop protection schemes to meet customer requirements.

You will support FAT/SAT, collaborate with customers, troubleshoot issues, and mentor junior engineers while leading technical aspects of projects and contributing to scope development and proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems protection and control engineering.
  • Experience designing HV protection and control systems.
  • Ability to read and create AC/DC schematics, one-line diagrams, and logic diagrams.
  • Experience with protection relays (Siemens, SEL, GE, ABB, etc.).
  • Knowledge of substation communication protocols: IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, PROFINET/ PROFIBUS.
  • Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, or system startup activities.
  • AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or Engineering Base (AUCOTEC) experience.

What You\'ll Do

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in power systems protection and control engineering.
  • Experience designing high-voltage (HV) protection and control systems.
  • Ability to read and create AC/DC schematics, one-line diagrams, and logic diagrams.
  • Experience with protection relays (Siemens, SEL, GE, ABB, etc.).
  • Knowledge of substation communication protocols: o IEC 61850 o DNP3 o Modbus o PROFINET / PROFIBUS
  • Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, or system startup activities.
