OverviewSCCI is hiring a Electrical Engineer (EE) for the Battle Management System (BMS) portfolio of projects. In this position you will apply robust electrical engineering processes working closely with the BMS Electrical team. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate and collaborate on a regular basis with EE team to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document solutions. Additional duties may include participating in the installation, integration, and testing of the developed changes at Dahlgren. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.SCCI offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, Life and Disability benefits, 401k with Company Match, time off consisting of 2 weeks of paid vacation, 48 hours of sick/personal leave, and 11 paid Holidays.Responsibilities:Design custom printed circuit boards using ARM based microcontrollers to control weapons on BMS platformsDesign harnesses and cabling between the circuit cards and external interfacesCreate engineering documentation for Technical Design Packages to include fabrication and assemble instructionsAssist with the troubleshooting and initial start-up of new circuit board designsCollaborate with the Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Software, and Quality Assurance teamsAssess operational performance criteria and provide input for improving performanceDevelop status reports, progress and performance results both orally and in writingEssential Skills and Experience:Must be a U.S. citizen capable of attaining and maintaining a DoD security clearanceA Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical disciplineSeven (7)+ years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer in a professional environmentKnowledge of Electrical Engineering best practices and rapid development processes.Hands on experience with fabrication (soldering, cable making, using oscilloscope, volt meter, small hand tools, crimper, and assembling PCBs)Proven skills in electronic circuits, semiconductors, logic design, schematic capture and PCB layout, cable/harness design, and microprocessorsKnowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control SystemsProficient with PCB design software (OrCad Cadence preferred)Proficient with creating cable drawings (Visio preferred)Knowledge of Embedded Software design best practicesFamiliarity with SolidWorks preferredAbility to work with changing program requirementsAbility to define task details, estimates, and scheduledAbility to work with others to meet established goals and program scheduledAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingSCCI is committed to providing a comprehensive and competitive benefits package to meet the needs of employees and their families.
