Qualifications

• Extensive RF/high-frequency PCB design experience.

I'm working with a well-funded defense tech company developing next-generation RF hardware for demanding real-world applications.

They're looking for an experienced RF PCB Design Engineer to take technical ownership of complex, high-performance circuit boards, working on products where signal integrity, reliability and manufacturability are critical.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving challenging engineering problems and seeing their designs progress from concept through to production.

The Role

• Lead schematic capture, PCB layout and multilayer board design for RF applications.
• Design and optimize controlled-impedance signal paths, grounding, shielding and RF performance.
• Work across the full hardware development lifecycle, from initial design through prototyping, testing and production.
• Collaborate with engineers across electronics, mechanical and systems disciplines.
• Support design verification, troubleshooting and improvements to performance, reliability and manufacturing yield.
• Influence technical decisions and help establish best practices as the engineering function grows.

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial experience designing RF or high-frequency PCBs.
• Excellent understanding of RF layout principles, signal integrity, impedance control and multilayer stackups.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer or KiCad.
• Experience taking PCB designs through fabrication, assembly and testing.
• Someone comfortable taking ownership, making engineering decisions and delivering in a fast-moving environment.
• Radar, wireless communications, aerospace, defense or advanced sensing systems.
• Electromagnetic simulation and RF modelling.
• Design for manufacture (DFM) and experience supporting production.
• Previous experience in a startup or smaller engineering environment.
