Job description

AIM builds autonomy for the real world—robots that move mountains. Our systems combine software, electronics, mechanics, perception, and mission-critical infrastructure into ruggedized machines operating on jobsites around the world. We replace manual, repetitive, and high-risk work with intelligent machines that transform how earthmoving gets done.

Electrical engineering is a critical part of these systems. Our autonomy hardware includes compute platforms, sensors, power systems, safety mechanisms, and wiring architectures that must perform reliably in harsh environments. We build electronics that operate through dust, mud, vibration, temperature swings, and the realities of field deployment.

We’re growing quickly, scaling globally, and building the technology foundation that will shape the future of construction and autonomy.

About You

You’re an engineer who enjoys building and troubleshooting real-world systems. You have strong fundamentals in electronics and enjoy seeing your designs move from concept to hardware operating in the field.

You have experience with PCB design, electrical testing, sensors, embedded systems, or system integration. You’re comfortable working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other lab equipment to debug issues and validate designs.

You enjoy collaborating across disciplines and are excited to work alongside software, autonomy, mechanical, and field engineers to solve challenging problems. You take ownership of your work, seek feedback, and continuously look for ways to improve your designs.

You want to build technology where reliability matters and where your work directly impacts autonomous machines operating in real-world environments.

About Us Together

At AIM, you’ll help solve electrical engineering challenges such as:

  • Integrating sensors, compute platforms, and embedded systems for autonomous machines
  • Designing and validating power distribution and protection systems
  • Developing reliable wiring and connector solutions for harsh environments
  • Supporting safety-critical systems that operate around people and heavy equipment
  • Debugging hardware issues that occur in both lab and field environments
  • Collaborating across software, autonomy, mechanical, and deployment teams

We’ll move quickly, learn from failures, and continuously improve our systems based on real-world performance.

Responsibilities
Design & Develop Electrical Systems
  • Support the design and implementation of electrical subsystems, including sensors, compute platforms, power systems, and communication interfaces
  • Assist with schematic capture, PCB layout reviews, and board bring-up activities
  • Help translate product requirements into practical electrical solutions
  • Support electrical integration across autonomy and mechanical systems
  • Perform hardware bring-up, testing, and validation using oscilloscopes, DMMs, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment
  • Debug electrical and system-level issues in both laboratory and field environments
  • Execute validation plans and document test results
  • Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective actions
Support System Integration
  • Work with software and autonomy engineers to integrate hardware and communication interfaces
  • Assist with CAN, UART, Ethernet, SPI, I²C, and other communication systems
  • Support sensor integration and troubleshooting efforts
  • Collaborate with field teams to understand and resolve real-world issues
Improve Product Reliability
  • Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
  • Help identify potential failure modes and reliability risks
  • Support environmental and reliability testing efforts
  • Contribute to documentation, test procedures, and engineering best practices
