Job summary

Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc. (Loureiro) seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our Facility Solutions Division in Plainville, CT. You will design electrical systems for industrial and educational facilities and perform supporting calculations.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and experience with REVIT, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and Procore. ESOP participation highlights our ownership culture.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in electrical engineering.
• US Person – eligible to work in aerospace/defense export-restricted environment.
• Experience with design/drafting software including REVIT, AutoCAD, BlueBeam and Procore.
• EIT certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for industrial, educational, and commercial facilities (power distribution, lighting, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security).
• Perform engineering calculations (load, photometrics, generator sizing).
• Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and Revit with CAD support.
• Conduct energy audits for industrial/manufacturing clients.
• Collaborate with Facility Solutions Division teams (mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, etc.).

Responsibilities

Industrial Wastewater Process Engineering

• Design electrical systems for industrial, educational and commercial facilities. Systems to include power distribution, lighting, controls, communications, fire alarm, and security.
• Perform engineering calculations to support the design of electrical systems. This will include electrical load calculations, photometrics, and generator sizing.
• Prepare engineering drawings in electronic drafting software including AutoCAD and Revit with support from our CAD designers.
• Conduct energy audits for our industrial and manufacturing clients.
• Collaborate with other focus areas within Facility Solutions Division including mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, industrial wastewater treatment, and energy.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• 2-5 years' experience.
• US Person - Eligible to work at aerospace and defense companies with export restrictions. US person is defined as a US Citizen or permanent resident.
• Experience using design and drafting software including REVIT, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and Procore.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
• Previous experience performing work in an industrial and manufacturing setting is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and hiking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather and terrain conditions.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment.
