Our client is an established Oklahoma City manufacturer serving original-equipment and aftermarket customers. The company is known for producing dependable products, maintaining rigorous testing standards, and using remanufacturing processes that extend product life and reduce waste. Continued growth and the addition of a new product line have created the need for an Electrical Engineer to join the team.

The Electrical Engineer will develop, test, implement, and support electrical equipment and PLC-controlled systems used throughout the manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on position that will spend significant time on the production floor diagnosing electrical or process issues and improving the performance of machinery and automated systems.

The engineer will collaborate with internal teams, customers, contractors, and suppliers to transform technical requirements into safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions. The position supports projects from early-stage design and prototyping through installation, validation, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement electrical designs, control schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Develop, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems supporting manufacturing machinery and automated production processes.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment, identify root causes, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Partner with engineering and production teams to build, test, and validate prototypes and equipment improvements.
  • Evaluate electrical systems for performance, safety, reliability, sustainability, and conformance with customer requirements.
  • Inspect electrical components and systems throughout installation, startup, and ongoing operation.
  • Support manufacturing personnel when equipment or production processes experience electrical issues.
  • Develop bills of materials, work instructions, operating procedures, inspection records, and related technical documents.
  • Interpret customer specifications and coordinate with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, contractors, production personnel, and company leadership.
  • Present technical recommendations, project progress, and engineering findings during team and management meetings.
  • Maintain accurate engineering files, equipment documentation, test results, and quality records.
  • Train and guide team members on the proper installation, operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Assist with continuous-improvement initiatives that strengthen equipment performance, product quality, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Electrical Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • Approximately three to five years of relevant electrical engineering or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with PLC-controlled machinery or industrial automation systems required.
  • Ability to read, create, and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Understanding of electrical safety, testing, validation, and quality-assurance practices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, production, maintenance, vendors, and leadership.
  • Stable employment history and a record of consistent professional growth.
  • Comfortable working both in an office setting and directly on the manufacturing floor.
