Job description

Our client is redefining the future of space operations by tackling some of the most pressing challenges in orbit today. With a focus on satellite servicing and orbital debris management, they are building innovative technologies to create a sustainable and efficient environment in Earth's orbit. Their mission is to extend the lifespan of satellites, reduce space debris, and pave the way for a new era of responsible and scalable space exploration.

Backed by a dynamic team of visionaries and engineers, this company is at the forefront of developing solutions that combine advanced robotics, AI, and cutting-edge propulsion systems. Their work not only supports scientific innovation but also ensures a more sustainable approach to space operations, making them a key player in shaping the future of humanity's presence beyond Earth.

The role:

Take on the opportunity to design, develop, and test high-reliability hardware systems for cutting-edge satellite technologies. In this role, you’ll work with a cross-disciplinary team to bring innovative electrical systems and printed circuit boards (PCBs) to life. If you're a creative problem-solver ready to push boundaries, this is the position for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design & Development: Create advanced electrical systems and PCBs for satellite platforms.
  2. System Ownership: Drive requirements capture, component selection, schematic design, prototyping, debugging, and testing.
  3. Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis at the component level for PCB issues.
  4. Electrical Systems Lead: Oversee the satellite's electrical system, including harness design and fabrication.
  5. Documentation: Prepare and maintain essential design and manufacturing documentation.
  6. Collaboration: Work closely with teams across mechanical, software, manufacturing, and testing disciplines.
  7. Operations Support: Act as the subject matter expert for electrical systems during on-orbit operations.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience: 2-4 years in PCB design, layout, and electronic system validation.

Technical Skills: Expertise in schematic capture tools (e.g., Altium), and proficiency with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

Creative Engineering: Ability to develop innovative solutions and detailed technical documentation.

Security Clearance: Eligible for Secret or TS/SCI clearance.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  1. Passion for space and high-reliability electronics.
  2. Experience building innovative systems with limited resources.
  3. Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice) and surface-mount soldering.
  4. Knowledge in power supply design, system verification, embedded systems, and high-speed signal routing.
  5. Hands-on experience with FPGAs, digital processors, and electronics productization for manufacturability.
  6. Applicants must meet U.S. export control regulations, including citizenship or lawful residency qualifications.

Benefits:

  1. Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.
  2. Retirement Plans: Access to competitive 401(k) options.
  3. Paid Time Off: Generous vacation and personal leave policies.
  4. Professional Development: Ongoing training and career growth opportunities.
  5. Engaging Culture: Participate in regular team-building activities and events.
  6. Inclusive Environment: Work in a diverse and equitable workplace.
