Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Electrical Engineering role in California to support basic design tasks for electrical power distribution, motor control, and lighting systems.

The position operates under supervision and follows established procedures while developing foundational engineering skills. You will assist with designs, collaborate across civil, structural, and mechanical teams, and contribute to construction-phase engineering services.

Job description

The Electrical Engineering role performs basic tasks relating to electrical power distribution systems design, motor control systems design, and lighting systems design. This role follows established procedures and guidelines and works under close supervision. This position solves routine problems, performs basic calculations, and learns to apply foundational skills in electrical engineering.

• Contribute to engineering services during construction.

Skills and Competencies

• Foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles.


• Able to explain facts, policies, and practices related to electrical engineering.


• Introductory knowledge of power distribution systems and motor control design.


• Communications skills to coordinate with other disciplines such as civil, structural, and mechanical teams.

Experience

• Typically, a minimum of 0-2 years related work experience in Electrical Engineering or related field.


• Encouraged to certify in the SMS framework in the first six months of being in the role.

Education

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.

Salary Range:

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location B: $71,000 - $96,000
