Job summary

Stellent IT LLC in Houston, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer for onsite work designing electrical cabinets and electro-mechanical control systems. You will develop Schematic designs, 2D/3D layouts, BOMs, and reports, collaborating with mechanical teams in the SolidWorks ecosystem.

Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in cabinet design; strong proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical, AutoCAD Electrical, or Revit; familiarity with BACnet/Modbus; and excellent technical writing skills are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering; MS or PEng certification preferred.
• 5+ years in electrical cabinet design; 4+ years in electro-mechanical control systems; UL508A MTR certification preferred.
• Experience developing electro-mechanical control systems; HVAC control systems preferred.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical / AutoCAD Electrical / Revit for schematic design, 2D/3D layouts, BOM generation.
• Technical writing skills for electrical specifications and test plans.
• Familiarity with BACnet and Modbus in Building Management System (BMS) contexts.
• Experience with MS Office; exposure to Jira/DevOps is a plus.
• Lab testing instrumentation and measurement techniques knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design and document electrical control systems for cabinets and panels.
• Create electrical schematics and 2D/3D layouts; generate BOMs.
• Collaborate with mechanical teams within the SolidWorks ecosystem.
• Prepare and execute electrical test plans and specifications.
• Support integration with Building Management System (BACnet/Modbus) protocols.

Job Description:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. MS or PEng certification preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in engineering with technical project management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in electrical cabinet design. UL508A MTR certification preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in developing electro-mechanical control systems; experience with HVAC control systems preferred.
• Strong software proficiency in any 1 - SolidWorks Electrical / AutoCAD electrical / Revit:
  • Electrical schematic design and documentation
  • Control panel layout and 2D/3D integration
  • Automated wire numbering and report generation
  • BOM (Bill of Materials) generation and design automation
  • Collaboration with mechanical teams via SolidWorks ecosystem
• Proficiency in technical writing, specifically in electrical specification writing, test plan writing and execution.
• Familiarity with integrated communications via Building Management System (BMS) protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Demonstrated capability with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD family of products; experience with Agile work management systems (Jira/DevOps) a plus.
