Job summary

Oceanit in Hawai‘i seeks an Electrical Engineer to join our R&D team, designing and prototyping advanced electronic systems such as sensor arrays, wireless transceivers, and digital audio systems. Bachelor's degree required; Master's or PhD preferred.

Eligibility to obtain SECRET clearance. You will collaborate with scientists to translate concepts into hardware from design to validation, with hands-on testing and a focus on fast-paced, high-impact projects in Honolulu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Broad technical background in electronic systems with hands-on design and testing.
• Strong skills in digital hardware, analog circuits, PCB design, FPGA, and MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Provide hardware and software development support, coordinating internal teams and external vendors.
• Design, develop, and test digital hardware and circuitry to meet specifications.
• Contribute to diverse, multidisciplinary technology projects and rapid prototyping.
• Offer technical guidance and pursue new business opportunities related to these efforts.

Oceanit is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our multidisciplinary R&D team in developing innovative electronic systems across a range of cutting-edge applications. This role involves hands-on design, prototyping, and testing of advanced technologies in areas such as sensor systems, wireless communications and transceivers, positioning and navigation devices, and digital audio systems.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with scientists and engineers from various disciplines to translate concepts into functional hardware, contributing to the full development lifecycle—from initial design through prototyping, integration, and validation. THE VALUE YOU DELIVER:

• Provide support for hardware and software development to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-performance technologies. Responsibilities include coordinating internal technical teams and overseeing external vendors.
• Collaborate with the technical team to design, develop, and test digital hardware and electronic circuitry that meet or exceed customer specifications.
• Contribute to a variety of technology development projects while working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical expertise, strategic input, and support in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities related to these efforts.

THE EXPERTISE WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• Broad technical background supporting the development of innovative electronic systems, with experience in areas such as:
  • Analog circuit design
  • PCB design and fabrication
  • FPGA development
  • System design utilizing ADCs/DACs
  • Hands-on use of lab test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators)
  • Modulation and signal processing techniques
  • Numerical analysis using MATLAB
  • Software development in C/C++, Python, or similar languages
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical concepts, system designs, and trade-offs to customers.
• Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and quickly learn and apply new concepts within the engineering process.
• Must be eligible to obtain a SECRET-level security clearance.
