Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company's WECTEC Staffing Services is hiring an Electrical Engineer for a 1-year contract. This remote role may require travel to Juno Beach, FL 33408, and supports client projects with senior-level expertise.

You will bring 11+ years of PLC programming, system design, grid optimization, and risk management experience, with exposure to power systems and energy storage technologies. Strong regulatory awareness and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 11+ years of PLC programming experience, preferably on Schneider Electric platforms.
• Experience with Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA and HMI development.
• Experience with power systems and utility-scale energy projects.
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy or power generation projects.
• Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage tech.
• Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards.
• Experience with FAT/SAT testing and commissioning.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% for project commissioning.

About the role:

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment.(W-2) You will provide high-level expertise in system design, grid optimization, and technical risk management. Work with customer leadership to guide engineering strategies, solve complex challenges, and ensure long-term infrastructure resilience. You would have an advanced experience in system integration, and risk management, ensuring project success from conception through execution.

Location: Remote with trips to Juno Beach, FL 33408

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-level oversight of engineering and project execution, negotiate technical and regulatory requirements, and influence executive-level project decisions.

• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy or power generation projects

• Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies

• Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards

• Experience with FAT/SAT testing procedures and commissioning protocols

• Full accountability for PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing completion

• Ability to travel up to 25% for project commissioning support

• NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness
