Job summary

Salas O’Brien is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a focus in power distribution in Evansville, IN. You will participate in design reviews, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and ensure projects comply with NEC, NFPA, IBC and IECC standards while advancing detailed electrical designs.

The role emphasizes Power System Studies, lighting design, and sustainable design technologies within a broad portfolio of data centers, healthcare, science, and building projects.

Qualifications

• U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; foreign degree accepted with equivalency
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; LEED AP and SKM Powertools preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Participate in and support design and coordination reviews with clients and project team members
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers across disciplines on project delivery
• Support development of project design standards and best practices
• Work with vendors to review data for technical reviews and production
• Oversee assigned project work ensuring alignment with budget and schedule
• Perform Power System Studies including short circuit and arc flash analysis
• Ensure electrical designs conform to NEC, NFPA, IBC and IECC requirements
• Utilize 3-D Modeling/BIM for drawings and construction coordination
• Travel out of town or out of the United States as needed

Job Summary

Job Duties Include

• Participate in and support design and/or coordination reviews with clients and other project team members.
• Collaborate with and support engineers and project managers from a wide array of disciplines across various projects.
• Support the review and development of project design standards and best practices.
• Work closely with vendors to support vendor-submitted data for technical reviews and production.
• Oversee assigned project efforts to ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
• Perform Power System Studies, including time current coordination, short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analysis.
• Ensure that the electrical design on projects conform to the requirements of the applicable codes; including National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA, and the International Building Code and International Energy Code
• Effectively utilize computer design software and have a working knowledge of 3-D Modeling/BIM software for design producing construction drawings, and for construction coordination modeling.
• Travel out of town or out of the United States from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

• U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or the foreign degree equivalent
• A working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit, LEED Accredited Professional, SKM Powertools, are preferred but not required at the time of hire.
