Job summary

Renewyx is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical design for solar PV and battery storage projects in the Midwest. You will model PV systems in PVSyst and Helioscope, design single-line diagrams, schedules, and calculations for utility submissions, and produce shop drawings for installation crews.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in renewable energy electrical construction and design.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD 2D/3D, Revit, and Bluebeam.

• Experience designing single-line diagrams and permit/construction docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Model PV systems in PVSyst/Helioscope and prepare SLDs and calculations.
• Create shop drawings and AutoCAD layouts for installation teams.
• Perform site surveys and ensure designs meet codes and AHJ requirements.
• Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

They are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their design team and lead the electrical engineering design of solar PV and battery storage projects. In this role, you will model PV systems in PVSyst and Helioscope, design single-line diagrams, schedules, and calculations for utility and AHJ submissions, produce shop drawings for installation crews, conduct site surveys, and create AutoCAD layouts based on existing conditions and building codes. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and installation contractors throughout the full project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate should have the following:

• 2+ years of experience in renewable energy electrical construction and design
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D, with experience in Revit Modeling and Bluebeam
• Hands-on experience with PVSyst and/or Helioscope for production modelling
• In-depth electrical knowledge including voltage drop, ampacity, power factor, arc fault, short circuit analysis, protection coordination, and equipment selection
• Experience designing and submitting single-line diagrams, permit drawings, and construction documents to utilities and AHJs
• A Bachelor\'s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. PE license is preferred and will be a strong differentiator
• NABCEP certification is preferred
• Experience conducting site surveys and capturing existing field conditions, including drone or ground-based scanning, is advantageous
• Familiarity with general construction and electrical construction practices in a solar context
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment
• A collaborative, client-service-oriented working style with strong communication skills
