Job summary

Brooks Automation is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our robotics and automation team. You will work on robot and automation system controls, contribute to PCB designs for controllers, and develop Engineering Design Specifications in a collaborative environment.

Our Opportunity: We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer, eager to integrate into our culture and be a key team contributor. This engineer will work with a team in the development of robot and automation system controls solutions and engage in analyses of complex field and manufacturing challenges. Key responsibilities will include working with a team on PCB designs for system and robot controllers and developing Engineering Design Specifications. Work will include technical presentations and cross-functional issue resolution. Responsible for ensuring proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems, and engineering design standards are followed. Must be capable of working collaboratively with mechanical and software engineers on complete product solutions.

In a typical week, the priorities for the individual and the team are defined in our on-line project system. Long-term development projects will progress, a question or issue may arise from a customer or from our operations team requiring a quick investigation and response, input at multiple design reviews may be given, and hands on prototyping or testing may be done in our labs.

• Spice modeling and analysis, or equivalent
• Digital circuit design
• DC-DC power supply circuits
• Component selection and data sheet interpretation
• Cable design
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Competency in Altium preferred
• Strong technical communication and presentation skills
• Handy in the use of standard lab equipment and tools
• Prototyping and debugging circuits in a lab
• Standard Windows applications (Excel, word, power point, outlook)
• BSEE with 3+ years of experience, or MSEE with 1+ years of experience
• Occasional travel

Bonus

• Experience with Verilog and FPGAs

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $105,593.46 USD to $142,861.74 USD

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
