The opportunity
We are supporting an aerospace and defense organization seeking an experienced EEE Parts Engineer to contribute to the delivery of advanced, high-reliability electronic systems.
This is a hands-on engineering position focused on electronic component assessment, qualification, screening and approval. You will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure components meet demanding technical, quality and reliability requirements.
The position offers ownership of key engineering activities, exposure to technically challenging hardware programmes and the potential for a longer-term opportunity.
What you'll do
- Evaluate electrical, electronic and electromechanical (EEE) components for suitability in high-reliability applications.
- Review component specifications, qualification data, derating requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Develop and maintain approved parts documentation, component assessments and qualification records.
- Identify components requiring additional screening, qualification or testing.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external laboratories on component testing and analysis.
- Review test results, failure analysis reports and supporting technical documentation.
- Prepare technical justifications, approval packages and engineering reports.
- Support investigations into component failures, reliability concerns and nonconformances.
- Monitor component obsolescence, product alerts and supply-chain risks.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Procurement and Programme teams.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- Background in EEE parts engineering, component engineering or electronic hardware reliability.
- Good understanding of semiconductor devices, integrated circuits and passive electronic components.
- Familiarity with military, aerospace or other high-reliability component standards and qualification processes.
- Experience reviewing component specifications, test data and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage engineering tasks independently and collaborate across technical teams.
Nice to have
- FPGA experience, especially qualifying and approving FPGAs and their supporting components
- Experience preparing data packages for, or presenting to, a parts control board
- GIDEP, PMA (tin whisker and similar), or MRB experience
- Space, launch or harsh-environment program experience
- Experience with MIL-PRF-55681, -55342 or -55310
- Eligibility to obtain a security clearance
