Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Atlanta is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team. You will design electrical systems for diverse markets, coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team, and support project life cycles from planning through construction.

The role requires a PE license, strong AutoCAD/Revit skills, and hands-on experience in building electrical design. Expect travel and collaboration with senior engineers in a fast-growing, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Electrical emphasis is required.
• Experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• PE license recognized by the licensing board for the position's location is required (e.g., PE or P.Eng).
• Strong computer skills with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Design building-related electrical systems across markets (Datacenters, Education, Science & Technology, Healthcare, etc.).
• Coordinate with a multidiscipline design team throughout the project life cycle (planning to construction).
• Develop drawings, specifications and engineering calculations; assist field inspections and RFIs.
• Review shop drawings and respond to construction administrative tasks.
• Travel may be required occasionally.

HDR is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services team in Atlanta. The Electrical Engineer will be an integral part of our team with an opportunity to work with talented staff within a great office environment, and to be a part of one of the fastest growing and most critical segments of HDR.

This individual will be expected to perform innovative designs of building-related electrical systems over a variety of markets including Datacenters, Education, Science and Technology, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, and Federal. They will coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire project's life cycle from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. They will work closely with senior electrical engineers, EITs and designers, and will be responsible for supporting the development of drawings, specifications, and related engineering calculations, as well as field inspection, resolution of RFIs, and review of shop drawings during construction. They should be self-motivated and possess strong leadership skills with a passion to deliver creative, technically excellent electrical design solutions. Occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
• Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems)
• Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
