  • Coordinate electrical and mechanical isolation, de-energization, re-energization, shutdown, testing, and energization activities for construction and commissioning teams.
  • Review and approve energy isolation plans and permits before work begins, confirming that controls align with project requirements and safety standards.
  • Review electrical one-line diagrams, switching procedures, job hazard analyses (JHAs), activity hazard analyses (AHAs), pre-task plans, and risk assessments related to hazardous energy work.
  • Perform field verification of isolation boundaries, lock and tag placement, zero-energy state, electrical safe-work conditions, and energization readiness prior to authorizing work.
  • Maintain clear control and visibility of energized and potentially energized systems as the project transitions from construction into commissioning and final turnover.
  • Coordinate closely with electrical superintendents, foremen, safety representatives, general contractor personnel, commissioning agents, and affected subcontractors to align work plans and energy controls.
  • Support safe operation of medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, temporary power, critical power, and associated electrical equipment.
