a.i. solutions is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Components and Assemblies Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) QS Directorate.

This position helps establish an Electronics Radiation Effects Testing team for internal and external labs and test events, improving Nuclear Radiation and Survivability for BMDS. The role requires a BA/BS with 5+ years in quality or mission assurance for missile defense or DOD systems, plus experience with radiation facilities.

Qualifications

• BA/BS with 5+ years in quality or mission assurance for missile defense systems or DOD weapons.
• Experience with radiation test facilities or radiation databases is required.
• Ability to understand missile defense system complexity and functionality.
• Strong written and oral communication to convey complex topics clearly.
• Collaborative work in small teams of quality and mission assurance professionals.
• Must hold or obtain a Secret Security Clearance before start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering, radiation effects, quality and mission assurance support within BMDS (QSR Office).
• Analyze radiation environments and support SEE and dose-related analyses (TID/DDD).
• Develop design requirements and assess radiation effects on system performance.
• Produce weekly status reports on activities and issues.
• Travel quarterly to external test facilities as needed.
• Work onsite at MDA Redstone Arsenal in office and lab settings.

a.i. solutions is seeking an Electrical/Electronics Components and Assemblies, Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance (QS) Directorate. This position is also part of a new initiative to establish an Electronics Radiation Effects Testing team supporting internal and external laboratories and program test events. This development should result in improved Nuclear Radiation and Survivability support as part of the mission at MDA/QS. This is the first position growing this capability, therefore immediate impacts to the radiation effects test team and onsite lab are expected to increase capability to perform radiation environments engineering, test, and analysis across the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems.

• Provide engineering, radiation effects, quality and mission assurance support within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS); specifically, within the QSR Program Office.
• Provide a basic understanding and analysis of radiation environments; including the natural orbital trapped particle environments, the natural Interplanetary environment, transient environments (solar events, coronal mass ejection, space weather, etc.), support models for energetic particle environments, and transport of radiation environments including, geomagnetic shielding, and analysis of spacecraft shielding (e.g., FastRAD, Space Radiation).
• Perform System design support for Single Event Effects (SEE) and Mission Integrated Dose (Total Ionizing Dose (TID) and Displacement Damage Dose (DDD); including development and flow-down of design requirements, analysis of single event effects on system performance, including ad-hoc functional analysis and assessment of system availability.
• Provide weekly status reports on activities and issues of concern.
• Travel periodically, approximately once every quarter, especially to external test facilities
• Position is located at MDA on Redstone Arsenal at MDA facility, with expectation to work onsite in both office setting and in laboratory setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA or BS with 5 or more years related experience in quality or mission assurance analyzing missile defense system and/or DOD weapon systems.
  
  • Acceptable substitute: BA/BS and 5 years working in nuclear medicine, a radiation test facility, at a nuclear reactor facility, or in a materials research and/or materials testing in radiation environments
• Experience working with radiation test facilities and/or part or radiation databases
• Experience demonstrating a basic grasp of missile defense system complexity and functionality.
• Experience communicating complex topics clearly and concisely via both oral and written mediums.
• Experience collaborating within small teams representing primarily quality, and mission assurance professional backgrounds.
• Experience with supporting and assisting the development and execution of policies and requirements.
• Must possess a Secret Security Clearance prior to starting
