Patton, LLC is seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our team. You will design and bring up microprocessor-based electronics, DDR4/5 memory, and communication-specific circuits for LAN/WAN networking products.

The role includes power-supply design, regulatory compliance, and hands-on PCB layout and V&V. You will work with a complex EDA tool chain, contribute to schematic entry, PCB layout decisions, and design verification testing to ensure high reliability in Patton’s cutting-edge networking

Competenze

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in system- and board-level hardware design.
• Proficient with complex EDA tool chains for schematic entry (Altium preferred).
• Experience in timing and signal integrity analysis.
• Expertise in microprocessor-based electronics, DDR memory, and comm circuits.
• Familiarity with power-supply design (PO/LOOP buck and boost).
• Knowledge of UL/CE regulatory standards.
• Hands-on PCB layout and design verification testing.

Patton is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Engineer to contribute to the development of our entire line of communications and networking products. As a key member of our hardware engineering team, you will be responsible for system- and board-level design, bringing your expertise to tasks ranging from specification and schematic entry to bring-up, test, and debug of printed circuit boards and systems. Responsibilities:

Hardware Design and Development:

• Prepare detailed electronics hardware and system specifications to guide development activities.
• Utilize a complex EDA tool chain for schematic entry, ensuring precision and efficiency.
• Design a wide variety of digital and mixed-signal circuits for LAN and WAN networking applications, incorporating microprocessors and communication-specific integrated circuits.

Microprocessor-Based Electronics:

• Design and bring-up microprocessor-based electronics, including DDR4/5 memory, with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Develop and debug communication-specific circuits, encompassing Ethernet, USB, and Wireless technologies.

Power Supply Design:

• Design and debug point-of-load buck and boost power supply circuits to meet the power requirements of our products.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Design for regulatory compliance, ensuring safety, emissions, and immunity standards are met (UL and CE).
• Contribute to the preparation of documentation for regulatory approval processes.

PCB Layout and Testing:

• Participate in PCB layout, making informed decisions on stack-up, characteristic impedance, and copper weight for optimal performance.
• Conduct thorough design verification testing and document results to validate the functionality and reliability of hardware designs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in system- and board-level hardware design and development.
• Proficiency in using complex EDA tool chains for schematic entry, preferably Altium.
• Experience in timing and signal integrity analysis.
• Strong expertise in designing microprocessor-based electronics, DDR memory, and communication-specific circuits.
• Familiarity with power supply design, including point-of-load buck and boost circuits.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (UL and CE).
• Hands-on experience in directing PCB layout and design verification testing.
