HDR is seeking an Electrical EIT/Designer to join our power generation electrical/control group in Charlotte, NC. This role supports design packages for hydro, solar, coal and other facilities, including protection upgrades and control system improvements.

You will work under senior engineers, perform power system studies, and develop I/O lists while becoming proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation. HDR values inclusion and employee ownership, offering growth and collaboration across projects.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with Power Market Sector design software (ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation).

Responsabilidades

• Prepare detailed design packages for new and modified power generation facilities (Hydro, Solar, Coal, Simple Cycle, and Combined Cycle).
• Include relay protection upgrades, plant control system upgrades and equipment sizing.
• Work on projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Perform load flow, short circuit, grounding and arc flash studies.
• Specify major equipment such as generators, transformers, motors, switchgear, MCCs, PLC/DCS.
• Develop I/O lists and interface with plant control systems.
• Assist from kickoff through close-out and as-built drawings; CAD proficiency.

HDR is seeking a highly motivated Electrical EIT/Designer to join our power generation electrical/control group. This individual will be a key member of HDR’s rapidly growing engineering team and will work under senior engineers to support the following:

• Prepare detailed design packages for new and modifications to existing power generation facilities (Hydro, Solar, Coal, Simple Cycle, and Combined Cycle)
• Detailed design packages can include relay protection upgrades, plant control system upgrades, excitation, governor, and power system upgrades
• Work on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Engineering calculation reports such as load flow, short circuit, grounding and arc flash studies
• Major plant equipment specification such as generators, oil-filled and dry-type transformers, medium and low voltage motors, switchgear and motor control centers, PLC and DCS control systems
• Perform cable, raceway and equipment sizing calculations
• Cable and conduit schedules and routing drawings
• Develop Input and Output (I/O) List and interface with the plant control system
• Be involved in design engineering projects from kickoff to project close-out and as-built drawing preparation.
• Become proficient in CAD software such as AutoCAD and MicroStation

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title Electrical Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
• Experience with Power Market Sector design software (examples include ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation)
