Job summary

Black & Veatch, Overland Park, KS, seeks an Associate Engineering Technician to support the Virtual Design & Data Solutions team in developing plan and profile deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation. The role focuses on underground transmission line projects and requires basic Civil 3D experience.

You'll collaborate with engineering teams, produce accurate drawings, and mentor junior technicians while expanding your skills across CAD/BIM tools in a hybrid work environment

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Uses digital tools and design software (CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
• Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
• Stays current on BV standards, document control practices, and BV policies.
