Job summary

Willis Electrical, a UL-listed panel shop based in Houston, seeks an Electrical Drafter to prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation to support engineering projects. The role collaborates with electrical engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to develop accurate design packages for construction, manufacturing, or installation.

1-2 years experience with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Formal training is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, layouts, and technical documentation to support engineering projects
• Work closely with customers, production, project managers, and other disciplines to develop accurate design packages for construction, manufacturing, installation, and wiring
• Create detailed 2D layouts and drawings for electrical enclosures
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards, electrical codes, 3rd party standards, and customer requirements
• Review vendor drawings and incorporate approved equipment data into project documents
• Revise drawings based on engineering markups and client feedback
• Maintain drawing standards, document control, and revision logs
• Assist in standardizing design templates, symbols, and drawing practices
• Support continuous improvement of design processes and shop efficiency
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation practices
