Job summary

Actalent in Portland, OR is seeking an Electrical Drafter to create and modify drawings and models using REVIT software. The role involves producing detailed electrical drawings and collaborating with the design team in a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days from home) with locations across Portland, Boise, ID and Phoenix, AZ.

You will apply 3D modeling tools (Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, NavisWorks) and translate verbal directions into shop drawings, reading 2D plans, and supporting coordination

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and drafting courses required; one to two years of technical training preferred.
• Working experience in electrical drafting or MEP preferred using Revit.
• General working knowledge of construction software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
• Skills above and beyond would include creating simple parametric families, utilizing shared parameters, creating schedules, and creating complex geometry.
• Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for other parties.
• Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint, or project websites (FTP, etc.).

Job Title: Electrical Drafter

Job Description

The primary function of this role is to create and modify drawings and models using REVIT software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine assignments requiring a thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting system standards, practices, and techniques.
• Create quick actions utilizing the command language of the system to assist in drawing creation.
• Utilize knowledge of mathematics in the preparation of drawings.
• Develop increased proficiency in system operation, resulting in increased productivity, and learn how to use all software options.
• Review work orders and procedural manuals to determine critical dimensions of design.
• Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes, using conversion charts and calculators.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical drafting using 3D modeling software such as BIM, Revit, AutoCAD, and NavisWorks.
• Ability to create Revit Worksheets and understanding of Revit work-sharing process.
• Ability to take verbal and general written direction well and turn that direction into appropriate, working shop drawings.
• Ability to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters, and similar Revit functions.
• Fluency in the 2D and 3D space and understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
• Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team.
• Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems used in-house or on the job site.
• Fluency in importing documents such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, electronically or hard copy.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
