FirstEnergy Pennsylvania Electric Company is seeking an Electrical Engineer to plan, protect, and improve the reliability of Met-Ed's distribution systems in southeastern Pennsylvania. The role involves using engineering analysis software to model systems, assess voltage drop and fault currents, and perform switching and protection studies.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited).
• PE License or advanced degree acceptable as alternatives.
• 3–8 years of engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, protect, and ensure reliability of Met-Ed's distribution systems.
• Model distribution network using engineering analysis software.
• Prepare budget estimates and schedules for system reinforcement projects.
• Support operations with switching studies and settings for mobile substations.
• Conduct protection coordination studies for transformers, circuit breakers, fuses, and reclosers.
• Perform long-term distribution system planning studies and load reports.
