Job summary

New Flyer, North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Designer – Electrical Diagnostic Enhancement. Join a brand-new Engineering Services team focused on improving diagnostics across platforms to enable faster troubleshooting in production.

You will design releases, develop diagnostic capabilities, and collaborate with Electrical Engineering & Smart Bus Technology teams while supporting Production, Quality Assurance and Customer Service.

Qualifications

University Degree or Technical Diploma in electrical engineering or related field.
Strong understanding of control system algorithms and multiplexing system logic.
Experience with CAN/J1939 Ethernet communication protocols preferred.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities

Strategize, evaluate, develop, and execute diagnostic methods to improve tools for understanding vehicle electrical issues.
Monitor prevalence of electrical system issues and devise mitigation solutions.
Assess new systems for diagnostic capability and address gaps.
Prepare data and reports on project status and diagnostic coverage.
Coordinate with other groups and departments to ensure effective information flow.
Provide engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service as required.
Interact with vendors and customers on design issues and document approvals.
Complete diagnostic testing of components and systems to meet vendor requirements.
Assist Designer / Draft personnel as required by Design Manager.
