Job summary

Abbott in Sylmar, CA is seeking an Electrical Development Quality Engineer II to ensure new or modified products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, protecting patient safety.

You will execute Design Control deliverables, verify and validate electrical designs, manage risk, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable successful commercialization and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field or equivalent.
• 2 years of quality engineering experience with quality tools/methodologies.
• Experience in a broader enterprise/cross-division model preferred.
• Ability to work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse environment.
• Able to work in a team or as an individual contributor in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
• Travel approximately 10%, including international.

Responsibilities

• Execute and support on-time completion of Design Control Deliverables.
• Accountable for Electrical Design Verification and Validation planning and execution; root-cause analysis.
• Lead or support Risk Management activities from concept through commercialization.
• Support electrical design test method development and validation activities.
• Ensure DHF content completion and regulatory compliance; communicate gaps.
• Support manufacturing process development and qualification for new products and changes.
• Assist with internal & external audits and audit responses.
• Support product re-certifications and customer requirements.
