Job summary

Stantec in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to provide technical support on electric distribution design projects. You will participate in planning work schedules, develop detailed electrical designs, and coordinate permitting for railroad, roadway and utility crossings.

• Utility design and field operations to support distribution projects.
• Plan work schedules based on staffing workload, and safety requirements.
• Develop detailed electrical designs including calculations in coordination with Stantec designers and our client.
• Coordinate permitting for railroad, roadway and utility crossings.
• Conduct field audits of existing overhead and underground facilities associated with electric distribution system. Prepare field notes and preliminary designs.
• Analyze electrical load data and perform calculations to determine size and location of electric distribution facilities based on engineering standards, existing or proposed easements, Right of Way permits, and operational needs and requirements.
• Support and ensure implementation of HSSE Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
• Communicate and collaborate within Environmental Services and other Business Lines (Power and Transportation/ROW) to ensure consistency in project execution.
