RRC Power and Energy seeks an Electrical Designer III - Substation P&C to support high‑level protection and control design for critical energy projects.

You will prepare detailed P&C package drawings, develop SCADA and communication diagrams, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and compliance across multiple projects. This role offers remote work options with some office presence in the Round Rock area.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in substation protection and control (P&C) design for utilities, EPCs, or renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software including XREF management, annotation standards, and layer controls.
• Experience creating and modifying protection and control wiring diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings.
• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3.0, and IEC.
• Understanding of networking devices, relay I/O assignments, and communication configurations.
• Strong understanding of utility and industry design standards (IEEE, IEC, CSA, NESC).
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Must be authorized for full-time work in the U.S. or Canada.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in substation protection and control (P&C) design for utilities, EPCs, or renewable energy projects
