Job summary

Ghafari Associates is seeking an Electrical Designer to provide electrical analysis, design and drafting for lighting, power and low voltage systems on commercial, healthcare, government and educational projects.

Under supervision, you will develop construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD, coordinate with other disciplines, perform field measurements and ensure conformance with codes, standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
LEED accredited professional qualification preferred.
3+ years of experience in electrical engineering field.
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification from any state.
Experience with short-circuit analysis and coordination preferred.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; Bluebeam; BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

Responsibilities

Design and analyze electrical systems for installation, interconnection and control of architectural, electrical and mechanical components.
Design lighting and power distribution systems, low voltage systems and sizing of equipment.
Adhere to NFPA standards and project quality, budget and schedule.
Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages for lighting and power systems.
Produce construction documents per company and client standards; coordinate with other disciplines.
Conduct field measuring and site checks; maintain project files.
Review submittals for conformance and respond to RFIs.
Draft project specifications and assist as needed.
