Job summary

Lynk Engineers, Salt Lake City, seeks an Electrical Designer to support planning, design, and documentation of electrical building systems for commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects. You will work under licensed engineers to develop code-compliant, coordinated, and constructible electrical solutions with accurate BIM modeling.

The role requires 3–6+ years of electrical design experience, proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, and NEC knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology, drafting/design technology, or related field.
• 3–6+ years of electrical design experience in the AEC consulting industry.
• Demonstrated experience preparing electrical construction documents for building projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and layout of power distribution systems, including service equipment, feeders, panelboards, and branch circuitry.
• Prepare lighting layouts and lighting control documentation consistent with project requirements and energy codes.
• Support the development of electrical plans, details, schedules, and specifications.
• Coordinate electrical system routing with architectural, mechanical, structural, and technology disciplines.
• Assist engineers with load calculations, equipment coordination, and system documentation.
• Develop and maintain Revit models and AutoCAD drawings in accordance with company standards.
• Incorporate design revisions and maintain drawing accuracy throughout project phases.
• Assist in preparing permit, bid, and construction document sets.
• Participate in internal coordination meetings and interdisciplinary design reviews.
• Support project managers in maintaining design schedules and deliverable milestones.
• Communicate effectively with team members to resolve design conflicts and coordination issues.
• Assist with reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
• Respond to RFIs and provide documentation updates as directed.
• Participate in site visits and field observations to support proper system installation.
