Job Title: Electrical Drafter / Designer – Refinery & Terminal Operations

Location: 1001 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002

Type: Indefinite Contract

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office (flexible 8-hour shifts)

Travel: Up to 10% (occasional trips to California, Georgia, and local Houston sites)

Start Date Goal: February 2026

About the Role

Our client is expanding its maintenance and operations team to support growing workload within refinery and facility systems. This newly created role focuses on the maintenance and upkeep of electrical systems that support tank terminals and inbound/outbound transport facilities (rail, barge, truck).

Roughly 75% of the responsibilities will center on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of control systems — an excellent fit for someone who values hands‑on work over design‑only environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and support electrical systems including PLCs and PACs across refinery and terminal facilities.
  • Draft, design, and update electrical schematics and layouts in AutoCAD.
  • Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of existing systems as part of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensure cable tray layouts are properly routed and compliant with design specifications.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers during site reviews to verify existing system integrity.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience within refinery/facility environments, specifically midstream to downstream infrastructure (tank terminals, and inbound/outbound rail, barge, and truck operations).
  • Proven experience maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems (PLCs, PACs) — 75% of daily work will be maintenance related.
  • AutoCAD proficiency for drafting and designing control system diagrams and layouts.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience installing or reviewing cable tray lines and verifying existing setup accuracy.
  • Familiarity with PLC/PAC systems such as _Allen Bradley ControlLogix 1756_ or similar platforms using Ethernet/IP protocols.
Why Join Our Client?
  • Competitive work‑life balance with a flexible hybrid schedule.
  • Opportunity to work with a respected industry leader in energy infrastructure and facility operations.
  • Stable, long‑term contract role with a supportive technical environment.
  • Ideal for professionals who enjoy maintenance and continuity work rather than traditional design and installation projects.
