Job summary

Raymond Engineering-Georgia, LLC is seeking an Electrical Designer II in Conyers, GA, with hybrid remote options. The role supports Electrical Engineers in design calculations, Revit modeling, and delivering electrical drawings for power and lighting systems.

The candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate documentation and on-schedule project delivery. Requirements include a foundational electrical engineering education, hands-on drafting experience

Qualifications

  • Experience with electrical design and drafting of power and lighting systems.
  • Strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • FE exam is a plus.
  • Ability to travel and attend client or company meetings as required.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn federal design criteria (UFC, DoD, VA).

Responsibilities

  • Assist Electrical Engineers and senior team members with research, design, project coordination, and client communications.
  • Perform electrical design calculations and support engineering analysis activities.
  • Develop Revit models and prepare electrical engineering drawings, schematics, plans, details, sections, and schedules.
  • Support the design and analysis of power and lighting systems.
  • Assist with preparation and editing of technical specifications as directed.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and field investigations for project development.
  • Provide construction-phase support and field services under supervising engineers.
  • Prepare site visit reports, technical reports, and project documentation.
  • Assist with project leadership and coordination from conception to completion.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, clients, and team members.
  • Perform design and drafting using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Utilize SKM Power Systems and other engineering tools as needed.
  • Monitor project scope and budget, flag risks or scope changes.
  • Maintain records of calculations, drawings, communications, and field observations.
  • Communicate anticipated completion dates and hours to leadership.

Position: Electrical Designer II

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Designer II to support the design and delivery of electrical engineering projects. This role performs design calculations, develops Revit models, prepares engineering drawings, and supports field services under the direction of experienced Electrical Engineers. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals, experience with electrical design and drafting, and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative project team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Electrical Engineers and senior team members with research, design, project coordination, and client communications.
  • Perform electrical design calculations and support engineering analysis activities.
  • Develop Revit models and prepare electrical engineering drawings, schematics, plans, details, sections, and schedules.
  • Support the design and analysis of power and lighting systems.
  • Assist with the preparation and editing of technical specifications as directed.
  • Conduct site surveys, inspections, and field investigations to collect information for project development and analysis.
  • Provide construction-phase support and perform field services under the direction of the supervising Electrical Engineer.
  • Prepare site visit reports, technical reports, project documentation, and progress reports.
  • Assist with project leadership and coordination from project conception through completion.
  • Assist with project fee generation and workhour estimates as directed.
  • Coordinate and communicate with architects, engineers, regulatory agencies, clients, and other project team members.
  • Perform design and drafting activities using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Utilize SKM Power Systems software and other engineering tools as needed.
  • Monitor assigned project scope and budget and proactively communicate potential risks or scope changes.
  • Maintain accurate records of calculations, drawings, client communications, and field observations.
  • Complete assigned work on schedule and communicate anticipated completion dates and workhour needs to project leadership.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience with electrical engineering projects, including the design and analysis of power and lighting systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience with SKM Power Systems software is preferred.
  • Experience observing construction and preparing technical written documentation for clients.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with regulatory agencies, architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and other project team members.
  • Ability to learn and apply federal design criteria, including UFC, DoD, and VA requirements, or prior experience with these standards.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work productively with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, time-management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to different projects, clients, and team members.
  • One of the following education and experience combinations:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC-accredited four-year engineering program with 2+ years of experience.
    • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC-accredited four-year engineering program plus a two-year master’s degree in engineering with 1+ years of experience.
    • Associate degree in Engineering with 4+ years of experience.
    • Equivalent non-American four-year engineering degree, subject to review, with 3+ years of experience, including a minimum of 2 years of experience in the United States and fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Having passed the FE exam administered by NCEES is a plus.
  • Ability to travel and attend local client or company meetings as required.
Working Conditions:

This position includes both office and field responsibilities. Field work may require climbing ladders, scaffolds, and stairs; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; wearing appropriate protective equipment; working around construction activities and equipment; and working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
