Job summary

Electric Supply and Equipment Company is seeking a Design Technician to translate engineering concepts into manufacturable designs, create manufacturing files, and maintain documentation.

You will apply redlines in EPLAN/AutoCAD, assist with testing, and support BOMs, working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams in an office setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in CAD, panel layout, or industrial documentation.
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical components and basic control panel architecture.
  • Working knowledge of EPLAN, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured design workflows.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with engineers, production, and quality teams.
  • Highly organized with strong documentation and file management habits.
  • Comfortable with extensive computer-based work in an office setting.

Job description

The Design Technician prepares layouts, generates manufacturing files, updates documentation, and assists internal testing activities. This role ensures engineering intent is accurately translated into manufacturable designs while contributing to continuous improvement and business initiatives.

Requirements
Required
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical experience

  • Comfortable working in an office environment with extended computer-based work
Preferred
  • Knowledgeable of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL508A standards
  • "Hands on" electrical/mechanical experience or hobbies
