Job summary

Humanscale, a premier designer and manufacturer of ergonomic products, invites a junior to join our product development team in New York. You will collaborate with design, engineering, and management to help develop new products and refine requirements.

The role emphasizes hands-on design work, CAD review, testing, and alignment with sustainability and compliance. Strong communication and a drive to learn are essential; lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.

Qualifications

• Sr. year in pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge in wireless technologies (WiFi, Bluetooth) and energy/noise measurement methodologies.
• Knowledge in circuit design and CAD tools.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscope, DVM, function generator, power meter.
• Knowledge in product development life cycle and enterprise IT infrastructure and TCP/IP networking.
• Experience with test automation is a plus.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Engage in design sessions with design, engineering, and product management teams.
• Work directly with design engineers to develop and validate new products.
• Create product requirement, compliance requirement, sustainability requirement, design, and system architecture document.
• Create and execute functional, performance, interoperability, and quality & reliability test plans.
• Develop test fixtures and automation test tools.
• Perform competitive product research and teardown analysis.
• Participate in issue troubleshooting with in-house engineers and development partners.
• Participate in design review, risk assessment, and improvement planning.
• Conduct industry, and compliance research and analysis.
• Assist in creating and maintaining development roadmap and schedule.
• Assist in creating and maintaining production drawing, control document.
• Assist in reviewing off-tool samples, pre-production samples, and inspection reports.
• Assist in upgrading and maintaining PLM system.
