Job summary

Centrus Energy seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and help design, size, and commission critical power distribution equipment for process-control applications. You will collaborate with senior engineers and contractors to develop robust electrical schematics, BOMs, and documentation.

Responsibilities include MCC layout, protection settings, FAT witness, and field support while adhering to safety codes and site procedures. A Q Clearance is required or achievable.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on electrical experience
• Familiarity with industrial control panels, MCCs, and low-voltage power distribution
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Familiarity with CAD tools and electrical analysis software (ETAP, EasyPower) is a plus
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Q Clearance

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out MCCs, switchboards, and panelboards for facility power systems
• Create and update single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlock logic, and BOMs
• Assist in specifying and selecting equipment like contactors, drives, transformers, UPS systems
• Perform load checks and basic electrical calculations using ETAP or EasyPower
• Develop protective relay settings and interlock logic for LV/MV systems
• Witness FATs and support field commissioning and troubleshooting
• Ensure safety codes, standards and site procedures are followed
• Produce technical reports and stakeholder presentations
• Carry out related tasks to support project success
