Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a full-time Design Engineer 1 for our U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will design and develop basic analog, digital and RF circuits, equipment and systems, and perform schematic design and PCB layout.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, test board design, verifying designs, and applying engineering standards with standard tools to document and implement basic designs efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent academic record (GPA generally 3.0+).
• Ability to apply design standards to basic analog, digital and RF designs.
• Familiarity with electrical engineering tools e.g. multimeters, scopes, analysers, and PCB layout programs.
• Capable of basic troubleshooting and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic schematic design and PCB layout.
• Troubleshoot and debug basic circuits and systems.
• Design test boards to test design improvements.
• Test circuits designed by others and document results.
• Identify and resolve defects of basic scope using standard tools.
• Document designs using appropriate engineering procedures.
