Job summary

IPG Photonics, headquartered in Marlborough, MA, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team focused on sensing electronics for fiber lasers. You will work through the full project lifecycle from design to production support, interfacing with beam delivery subsystems and manufacturing.

The role requires a BS/MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 1–4 years of experience in schematic design and FPGA RTL design with Verilog, plus proficiency in OrCAD and PCB tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 1–4 years of electrical engineering experience including schematic design and FPGA RTL design with Verilog.
• Proficiency with OrCAD and familiarity with PCB design tools.
• Demonstrates strong technical writing skills and ability to produce high‑quality engineering documentation.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with internal customers, R&D, and international colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to schematic capture and board design under guidance from senior engineers.
• Assist with FPGA design tasks and support existing products.
• Develop specifications and maintain design documentation for accuracy and consistency.
• Provide support for manufacturing tests, calibration, and system debugging.
• Assist with testing for compliance and certification and help deliver production‑ready boards on schedule.
