Job summary

Matic is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join us on the ground floor, with runway for huge and immediate impact. You will own end-to-end design and manufacturing of critical PCBAs, perform rapid prototyping, debugging, and verification, and collaborate with mechanical and firmware teams.

You’ll work with contract manufacturers to scale production, craft test plans, and ensure product reliability throughout its lifetime. Compensation includes base salary and equity.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of professional electrical design experience on a product shipped in high volume.
• Experience with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer or Cadence.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, USB, and MIPI protocols.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Exposure to regulatory certification processes.
• Supply chain management and PCBA contract manufacturing experience.
• Comfort with fast-paced startup atmosphere; ownership.
• High level of maturity, ownership and pride in your work.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design and manufacturing of critical PCBAs.
• Rapid prototyping, component selection, schematic capture, bring-up and debugging, hardware verification.
• PCB layout of assemblies including SoCs, microcontrollers, connectors, sensors and power devices.
• Collaborate with mechanical and firmware engineers for electromechanical integration.
• Develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its lifetime.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure proper production of PCBAs and subassemblies.
