Job summary

The Structures Company, LLC in California is seeking a qualified engineer to lead verification, validation, and certification activities for aerospace electrical and mechanical systems.

You will review supplier data, document requirements, and support design, qualification, and manufacturing processes while collaborating with FAA/EASA regulatory teams and customers to ensure compliance and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes (DO-160, DO-178, DO-254) and related regulations.
  • Experience documenting, testing, and troubleshooting qualification of electronic and electrical components and line replaceable units.
  • Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification regulations.
  • Ability to assess test data to show compliance with FAA, EASA, and Boeing requirements.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review supplier technical data to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency and effectiveness
  • Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • Researches technology advances for potential application to company business needs

Required Skills
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures (e.g. DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, and D6 requirements), including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience documenting, testing, and troubleshooting the qualification and certification of electronic and electrical components and line replaceable units.
  • Familiarity with FAA and EASA certification regulations and requirements
  • Ability to assess, evaluate, and document test or analysis data to show compliance to FAA and EASA regulations, and Boeing requirements.
  • 5+ years of related work experience

  • Engineering Drawings & Specs
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design)
  • Engineering Judgment
  • Exercises engineering judgment in developing appropriate decisions considering decision criteria, implications, and possible consequences, to ensure product design integrity. Demonstrates understanding of the applicable scientific and engineering knowledge and involves others in obtaining information for the engineering decision-making process
  • Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance
