Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and implement mechanical designs that meet customer specs, standards, and schedules.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams and support for proposal development and testing. The ideal candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering or similar, 2+ years of professional engineering experience, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

• 2+ years professional engineering experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Reviews customer requirements including specifications, SOWs, and interface drawings to ensure contract compliance.
• Designs AC & DC electrical systems from customer specifications.
• Interfaces with other departments to resolve questions and technical issues.
• Creates technical proposals, technical materials, procurement specifications, and electrical analyses.
• Support company and customer test development and validation.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and implementing mechanical designs that meet customer requirements, technical specifications, cost targets, and project schedules. The role ensures compliance with applicable engineering standards and requirements while supporting proposal development, engineering execution, and continuous product improvement through design optimization, technical problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Reviews customer requirements including customer specifications, Statements of Work, and interface drawings in order to ensure compliance with contract.
• Designs AC & DC electrical systems from customer specifications.
• Interfaces with other departments to resolve questions and technical issues.
• Creates technical proposals, technical materials, procurement specifications, and electrical analyses.
• Support company and customer test development and validation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• 2+ years of professional engineering experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones).
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
• Travel up to 10%.
