Job summary

OCMI, Inc. seeks an Electrical Cost Estimator to join our project controls team in a hybrid role based in Auburn, AL or Rockville, MD.

You will develop electrical system cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs, and support the preparation of detailed cost models aligned with client goals. The role offers growth within a collaborative team and exposure to cost management, project management, and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture or 4 years of applicable construction trade experience in lieu of a degree preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with cost estimation and electrical systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and review of cost estimates and pricing for electrical systems.
• Develop cost estimates/models communicating client goals.
• Perform quantity take-offs with detail aligned to project goals.
• Input estimate data into the appropriate software.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures to ensure quality deliverables.
• Communicate clearly with project teams through verbal, written, and graphical formats.
• Research and sources/vendors to maintain cost information accuracy.
• Eager to learn and grow in estimation and project controls.
