Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is hiring a Controls Technician for our on-site operation in Clayton, NJ. The role focuses on maintaining and optimizing plant electrical, automation, and process control systems on high-speed production lines in a large bakery environment.

You will lead troubleshooting, perform root-cause analysis, and train Electro-Mechanics across all shifts while ensuring GMP, safety and quality standards and supporting facility utilities. Weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with extensive industrial controls, automation, or electrical maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of machine layouts, control drawings, P&IDs, and distributed control systems.
• Proficiency with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley), Siemens, and Mitsubishi programming, configuration, and troubleshooting software.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize plant electrical, automation, and process control systems to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for electrical and controls-related equipment failures.
• Train and coordinate Electro-Mechanics across all shifts.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for PLCs, drives, networks, and production equipment.
• Maintain electrical schematics, control programs, system configurations, and equipment documentation.
• Support plant utility systems including steam, refrigeration, HVAC, compressed air, water, and power distribution.
• Follow GMP, safety, quality, and regulatory standards and drive continuous improvement.
